I really picked a bad time to start “Photo A Day.” We are in the process of installing laminate (faux hardwood) flooring in half of our house. We are hoping this will help keep the kids well. They have been staying congested with coughs and all that bad stuff. We are also limiting their dairy intake.

Hopefully “Photo A Day” will be back soon.

I know I broke the rules of composition, “Never compose your subject as though it is moving out of the frame.” This was a quick decision, “Ooh, look at that cool taxi! Snap!”

I purchased a nice compact camera to have with me on days I don’t want to lug my big DSLR around. This is not for sessions or anything, but mostly for everyday family outings and such. I will also have this with me during our trip to Ethiopia. I don’t suspect I won’t take my DSLR to Ethiopia at all. I’ll have to have it to photograph our baby the first time we meet. However, my new Canon S90 will be with me wherever I go.

I will be posting a photo a day of things shot with the S90. Some will be straight out of the camera, others will be edited. The following picture was changed from color to black and white with MCP Quick Click Edits in Adobe Camera Raw.

Yes, you probably thought you already like it. But in case you didn’t notice, I left Facebook for a while. Not just disabling my account, but totally deleting it. Then, business dropped like a fly. A fluke? Perhaps. But let’s see what happens now.

Meet Leslie

I am a 31 year old woman, who is too old to have a “best friend.” But I do have 3 really, really, really good friends and Leslie is one of them. She is the person I go to when I need to hear the truth. She challenges me to Bible studies. And just the other day we took turns reciting the first two chapters of Philippians during our drive from Cullman. Friends like that don’t come around often!

Leslie has been writing book reviews for Discerning Reader for a few years now. There are some changes coming with Discerning Reader and Leslie needed photos. Guess who she called!
